Fantasy-inspiring interiors from BNO Design

Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz is a cutting edge interior designer of our time, and a big influence in the field. Anyone who knows me will know why I like his interiors--they are white! In fact, his whole New York City apartment is white. I could do without all the furs, but the shag carpets are lovely!

Good Stuff for Cheap!

It's not often I pass by or see a Pier 1. Every now and then I look up their site to see what they have going on. I was pleasantly surprised this time-look at some of the goodies I found!

4-drawer storage boxes, only $10 dollars. I really like the fuchsia, but I like the green too...

I'd want to just have these on the living room floor, but I'm sure my dog would decide they're his new beds- stool sized and papasan sized. Patterned Papasan Cushions $20 & $80

Flocked leaves pillow garnet, $18, they also have this on clearance with blue leaves.

A tulip table! tulip end table $129

I really like the natural striation of the bamboo on these vases, they also come in deep red. Green Bamboo Vases $35-$55

Glass Water Bottle Carafes with Lids
$18 each

These are too nice, and I've been looking for bowls! Assorted Blue & White Bowls
$5 each

Very, very cute. Felt petals pillow $30

I saw this last year and swooned! Now it's very on sale. Emmeline blue cafe shelving $99.98!!

I like the French country look of this console. Dexter console table $179

Turquoise dotted tumblers, $3 to $3.50. These look a lot more expensive than they really are, and they also come in green.

Great on the deck or patio, but I would end up getting all three. Raja pedestal tables, $29.98, metal

What do you think of Mr.Lauren's home collections? Are these photos what you want your house to be, or are these looks what you try to avoid?

Clever ways to cover an eye-sore

Everybody's got 'em. Spaces in their home they'd rather not be there. But no matter how ugly a radiator, one needs heat. The ideas below are some of my favorite solutions.

Ho-hum shelving? Make it pop and coordinate with the rest of the room by painting the back and sides of the shelves.

Mess under the table? In my small apartment, underneath the table is valuable storage space. I'll be making a simple table skirt like this one to hide my recycling bins, which live under a side table in my kitchen.

Use a bookcase as a storage console by keeping things tidy in matching bins.

Draw attention away from the radiator by fashioning a cover of some sort-- this can be something as simple as a shelf mounted above the radiator. Put intriguing objects on the surface that'll act as the focal point--instead of the radiator.

Crammed cupboards? Never underestimate the power of a pot rack! I'd cook even less than I do now if it wasn't for mine. I also have the same exact magnetic knife strip as seen here. It's really helpful because it means I'm not rooting around in drawers for a sharp blade.

Romantic rooms

How did I never know about the Designer's Guild? Their shots are so gorgeous, they look like the shoot was staged at Versailles! The Guild's fabric collections are full of luxurious damasks, stripes, and florals, and are utilized in everything from their carpets, upholstery, wallpaper, and even stationary! The colors are bold and they aren't shy about using them. Showrooms are located all over the world, too.

Cool bedrooms from Ikea!

So, we all love ikea, I can admit it. But I also love building furniture, and it's best to read up on a certain piece for any quality issues. Taking a trip to Ikea is always fun, though it takes up the whole day-- but what else are Saturdays for--and tomorrow is Saturday!
